We do not offer afternoon departures for private snorkeling. Here is why. Between 08:30 and 11:00 AM, the ocean around Nusa Penida is at its calmest. Wind speeds are lowest. Surface chop is minimal. Underwater visibility peaks at 15–20 meters. And at Manta Bay, this is the window when manta rays are most active at their cleaning stations. By midday, wind picks up. Currents strengthen. We never guarantee manta sightings because they are wild animals. However, Manta Bay — included in every private trip — is a sheltered location with frequent manta ray activity, especially during peak season (April–October). If you also want to visit Manta Bay (open ocean), let us know when you book — it is available as a special request when conditions are safe.

Can non-swimmers join this trip?

Yes. We provide life vests for everyone and your guide stays in the water beside you at all times. Just let us know your experience level when you book so we can prepare properly.

Is this suitable for children?

Yes — we welcome children aged 5 and above. The private format is actually ideal for families because the guide can adjust pace and locations to suit your kids. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the water.
